It’s been quite a journey, this slippery nut butter slide.
From starting with a banana-filled nut butter, to going to NOT using banana, to opting for all natural and organic ingredients, to grinding ingredients by hand, to building a worktable with an electric nut butter grinding machine.
All this to say, the journey thus far has been interesting, and we look forward to what lies ahead.
But while we’ve stopped here, enjoying a fresh cup of rooibos, let me remind you that our Oompa Loompa is rip-roaring-ready to make you a big fat jar of nut butter.
250 grams of nut butter.
That’s the size of our nut butter jars.
The size is not of paramount importance, however. Quality is.
And that’s what you can expect from Lush Yummy nut butter.
It’s a premium nut butter that contains natural ingredients that’s actually good for you.
Instead of sugar, we opt for honey.
And this is not Chinese honey, by the way.
This is natural, raw honey. We’re careful about this, cos we don’t want to pump you full of processed sugar.
The nuts?
Technically, not nuts.
Macadamias are seeds, while cashews are drupes.
Any case, we buy them raw and unsalted, and grind them ourselves, with the awesome machine our Oompa Loompa built.
We add salt, but it’s not common table salt.
We use a desert salt.
To be honest, it’s not because we think it’s better than standard table salt.
It’s because people THINK it’s better than table salt that we use it.
It’s like shopping at Woolworths because you THINK their food’s better. Whether it’s true is beside the point.
And let me once more remind you that we don’t heat our ingredients using a microwave oven.
This is something of a personal issue for me.
I’m not sure whether it’s safe to use a microwave oven or not, so I prefer we err on the side of caution by using boiling water to heat nut butter ingredients.
It makes me feel better about our nut butter.
We’re committed to health, and want to supply a top quality nut butter that’s not just addictive, but also nutritious.
It’s how we roll.
